ABOUT ME

It’s hard to remember a time when I wasn’t completely in love with the great outdoors.  Mountains, rivers, stars and plants; you name it, I love it.

My obsession with being outside is what led me to become a gardener.  I spent over ten years working at amazing places like RHS Wisley and Buckingham Palace Gardens in London.  The work was fun, but it was the plants that really caught my interest!
Alpines were always my favourites and I’ll always thank my mentor at Wisley who taught me how to photograph them.

These days however, the shoe is on the other foot.  I’m so grateful to be able to help others to experience the world while they learn how to photograph it.

Although I still love to photograph plants, my passion has grown.  I now find myself capturing everything from mountain peaks to shooting stars.  My style is very naturalistic, so you won’t see any HDR or over saturated sunrises here.  It’s blown out skies and that good ol’ fashioned 35mm film look for me thanks very much.

I can’t wait to meet you on a photography workshops and get photographing our amazing Planet Earth together.

SNAPSHOT EXHIBITIONS

Welcome to my Snapshot Exhibitions!  I hope that each exhibition will give you a brief insight into the area or subject on which it focuses.  Some exhibitions are based on geographical areas while others may focus on a specific group of plants or even a specific style of photography.

However, every gallery has one thing in common… they’re all temporary!  I’ll try and update them every now and then so be sure to check in from time to time.  Please enjoy!

ISLE OF THANET

This coastal corner of England is where I now call home.  Once an island off the coast of England, Thanet is now (thanks to the silting up of the Wantsum Channel) very much part of the mainland.

However, due to Thanet’s peninsula like shape, the sea surrounds it on three sides and dominates many of its scenic views.  In addition to the ever present ocean, expect to see towering chalk cliffs, vivid sunsets and lots of cauliflower fields.

A SUMMER TRIP TO ICELAND

Over a hundred thousand square kilometers of nonstop geological and photographic bliss can be found in Iceland.

The sun barely sets during an Icelandic summer, it seems to go in circles.  This means that photos are brightly lit throughout the day and sunsets blend seamlessly into sunrises and last for many hours.  Truly an incredible country that must be seen to be believed.

A DAY IN THE NORTH EAST

These shots were taken on a very misty winter day in my homeland, County Durham.  Much of the north east is sparsely populated with the exception of a few sheep and just waiting to be explored.
